English Language Certification Requirements for Australia Student visa
There are several tests applicants can take, these are the IELTS, TOEFL iBT, Pearson Test of English (PTE), and Cambridge Advanced English (CAE).
Students may be required to submit evidence of sufficient knowledge of the English language:

Language requirements may be waived for certain students:
Citizens of the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, New Zealand, or the Republic of Ireland.
Applicants who have been sponsored by the Departments of Foreign Affairs and Trade or Defence.
Secondary exchange students are eligible to apply.
Applicants who are currently enrolled in a registered school course of study.
Applicants enrolled in a separate English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students.
Students enrolled in a course that is taught in a language other than English.
Applicants who have completed at least 5 years of study in any of the following countries: the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, or the Republic of Ireland.
