OBA
Outcomes-Based Assessment (OBA) is a two-stage assessment process:
- Stage one is a cognitive evaluation that includes a computer-based multiple-choice question (MCQ) exam and an objective structured clinical exam. Before IQNMs can go to the next step of the assessment, this stage must be completed.
- Stage two – A behavioural evaluation of IQNM’s knowledge, abilities, and competence as an equivalency of a graduate-level Australian nurse or midwife is assessed in the form of an objective structured clinical examination (OSCE).
Before taking the OSCE, IQNMs must pass the MCQ exam. The OSCE exam is held at the Adelaide Health Simulation in Adelaide, South Australia, and is administered by AHPRA. The cost of taking the OSCE is AUD 4,000.Before taking the OSCE, IQNMs must pass the MCQ exam.
